I've said it before (in fact I said it yesterday): video games do not make good movies. I'm not going to say there will NEVER be a good video game movie, but I am willing to stick my head out and say we haven't seen one yet.

The Assassin's Creed movie could be our best shot of realizing a video game movie which is actually kind of good. A big part of this optimism comes from the fact is on-board to produce and star. However, from the sounds of a recent interview, I might be getting a little too optimistic. He told

We're just developing the script at the moment. I'd heard of it but had never played the game. I don't have a video game player... that's not what they're called. [Laughs] I met up with the guys from Ubisoft and they told me the story behind it, and I thought it was very interesting—the idea of reliving memories.

Did he just refer to a games console as a 'video game player'... Now, I don't think you necessary have to have played the game to make the movie, but I do think it does kind of helps. admitted to never playing Max Payne, and look how that turned out...
