The Assassin's Creed movie has been increasingly stealthy of late. Apart from the announcement that will produce and star, we've heard precious little about the much anticipated video game adaptation. Well, that is until now.

Although no director or story has officially been announced, we do have a release date. Assassin's Creed is expected in theaters on May 22nd, 2015. So that's basically a two year wait.

Interestingly this places Assassin's Creed in the traditional opening period for Star Wars movies. Are Fox trying to give Disney a run for their money by taking on one massive franchise with another? Hmm, perhaps, but I wouldn't be surprised if Fox backed down and changed the date if it does indeed clash with the release of Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens.

Usually, once a release date has been announced we can expect a load more information to come out way. But until that happens, why don't you check out my ideas for making a great Assassin's Creed movie?

What do you think? If Assassin's Creed does go up against Star Wars, which would you pick? Let us know below.
