Who would win in a fight between Michael Myers and Jason Voorhees? That's a question horror fans have been asking for decades.
A similar battle between two titans of terror was answered some time ago, when Jason took on the Springwood Slasher, Freddy Krueger.
However, the hypothetical battle between these two iconic mutes, is what legions of fans want an answer too, once and for all.
Who will be declared champion after the blood settles, and the blades fall? Is such a question even answerable?
Let's take a look at the evidence, and crown our king.
From crushing skulls to ripping hearts out, Jason has strength most can't compete with. Physically, he may just be one of the strongest horror villains ever.
In his battle with Freddy, strength is what brought him out of it alive. So we know Jason will rely heavily on brute force, even more so with Michael Myers.
Other great examples of his strength include:
- Squeezing someone's head until his eyes burst out of his skull.
- Twisting someones head 360 degrees.
- Knocking another mans head completely off.
Similar to Jason, Michael Myers is one of the strongest horror villains out there, and he's proved that over the years by accomplishing feats no ordinary person can.
No, we haven't seen him use his strength against somebody as powerful as himself. Yet, at odds with everyday men, he can mangle them in whichever way he chooses.
Examples of his strength include:
- Lifting a car.
- Shoving his thumb into a mans skull.
- Impaling someone with a shotgun.
- Forcing another mans head through iron bars.
This will depend on which of version of Michael Myers and Jason we're discussing. Uber Jason Vs Michael Myers from Halloween: H20? Jason, without question. How about Rob Zombie's Michael Myers, Vs Jason from Friday The 13th Part 2? Michael Myers, easily.
Overall, Jason is stronger than Michael Myers. Here's a side by side comparison of their strength in each sequel. Keep in mind, this was made after analyzing each movie, and watching for who was able to exhibit greater feats.

They're nearly tied in strength, but Jason has the edge. Michael Myers is stronger than Jason in two movies, tied with Jason in two, and loses to Jason in five.
In every fight, speed plays an important part. Which titan of terror will have the upper hand?
Michael can be very speedy. In many of his films, he's often seen hacking multiple people in an incredibly rapid succession.
Teleportation is heavily hinted at as well. Since his prey often see him through their windows, only for him to disappear right in front of their eyes.
As far as speed is concerned, Jason is a bit different from Michael. He raised himself in, and around the woods, along with animals, and many other dangers. So as a result, he's been able to grow older, and become quicker than your average slasher villain .
It wasn't until Jason died, and kept dying, before he became the slow killing machine we're all familiar with today.
Michael Myers has gotten faster, and is very quick when he wants to be. However, Jason is naturally speedy most of the time. He's able to move around quickly, and ran in four Friday The 13th films.
Both Michael Myers and Jason are known for their immunity to most harm, but how much can they really take?
Everyone knows Jason is near invincible. You can burn him, shoot him, hang him, stab him, throw toxic waste on his face, or drop him from space, and he always finds a way to come back.
However, this doesn't mean Jason is immortal. In a majority of the Friday The 13th films, Jason dies a very painful death.
Similar to Jason, Michael Myers has been through ordeals ordinary people would never survive. Hangings, shootings, stabbings, burning, beatings, etc, are pointless in his case.
However, the real difference in their levels of durability lies in death. Michael Myers hasn't died in any of his films, unlike Jason.
Jason is almost impossible to kill, and returns stronger in each movie. However, Michael Myers doesn't come back at all, being he never dies in his series.
Who's has the most weaknesses, and how will it effect the battle?
Ten Halloween sequels later, and Michael Myers still has no identifiable weakness. He isn't afraid of anything, and there's no way to manipulate him. If someone were to ask, ''how do we stop him?'', you wouldn't have a real answer to provide.
Jason does have a weakness unfortunately (or fortunately), and it isn't water, it's manipulation.
Often times he'll be disillusioned into thinking he sees his mother, when it's really his intended victim, or enemy. And from there, they can do anything to him.
Jason has one too many weaknesses, unfortunately. If he's tricked into thinking Michael Myers is Ms. Voorhees somehow, this battle is as good as finished.
Who's the smartest between these two terrifying boogeymen?
Often times, Michael Myers isn't thought of as a particularly smart villain, which isn't exactly true. Unlike other slashers (Jason in particular), Myers always thinks three steps ahead , and acts accordingly. This is why he never faces the level of danger Jason does.
Jason was clever in his earlier movies, but in different ways than Michael Myers. He placed traps, and was the master of waiting for the right time to strike.
Nevertheless, the most common, and well known version of Jason, isn't nearly as smart. He's transitioned into a hulking brute that charges into everything head first, almost literally.
In his earlier days, Jason was a product of the land he raised himself on. However, that part of his character has been chipped away dramatically. Michael Myers on the other hand, is a thinker. He knows how to assess each situation thoroughly, and act accordingly.
Winner: Michael Myers
Which slasher has the better arsenal?
Jason is handy enough to use whatever happens to be around. Throughout the whole franchise, he's used ice picks, hacksaws, sleeping bags, pitchforks, axes, bear traps, and much more.
Michael Myers signature weapon is a classic kitchen knife. Not meaning he's afraid to get down and dirty. He's been seen using an axe, a shotgun, and of course, his hands.
Michael Myers is creative for sure, his bare hands are as deadly a weapon as Jason's. He's also capable of working with whatever happens to be around.
However, going into this fight, Jason will likely have a machete, and Michael will likely have a butcher knife. And unfortunately for Michael Myers, a machete has more reach.
Who's The Winner?
Let's compare them overall one last time.
Jason: He has a lot going for him in this battle. An advantage in strength, which will help him in inflict more damage. He's generally faster, due to his survival skills. And he uses a weapon that puts most kitchen knives to shame.
Michael: On the other hand, Michael Myers could outsmart Jason quite easily. Due to his advantage in durability, it's possible he could figure out a way to beat Jason eventually. And he has no weaknesses, unlike Jason.
The Winner is...
In this showdown, Jason WILL inflict a lot of heavy damage. Due to his weapon advantage and strength, he'll break all types of bones, and generally hurt Michael Myers quite a bit. However, Myers isn't a pushover. Jason won't chop off a limb, or anything of that nature. Considering Myers is very strong as well, and is more than capable of putting up with Jason's brute strength and force.
After a series of painful blows, I think Myers will eventually think of a way to overcome Mr. Voorhees. Time, and time again, we've watched Jason succumb to his lack of thinking, while Michael Myers is the exact opposite. He always finds a way to overcome his situation, and that's exactly what would happen here.
