Original Twin Peaks actor Miguel Ferrer has passed away at age 61 after losing his battle with throat cancer.
Ferrer had a variety of acting roles both on screen and off, including voice work and broadway. He's perhaps most recognizable as RoboCop's Bob Morten; NCIS: Los Angeles' Owen Granger; And Twin Peaks' scathingly eccentric Albert Rosenfield.
He also voiced an INS agent in American Dad, and lent his voice to a number of other productions, including Robot Chicken and even Mulan, where he voiced ruthless antagonist Shan Yu.

A Return To Twin Peaks
He will be reprising his role in the first episode of the return of Twin Peaks this year. No doubt forensic pathologist Albert Rosenfield will have some strange but sage advice to impart during his brief cameo— after all, who could forget his kooky, iconic lines from the first season?
Ferrer is bereaved by a number of his fellow actors, with many expressing their loss to fans. Among those is Ferrer's cousin, George Clooney, who issued the following statement to The Hollywood Reporter:
"Today history will mark giant changes in our world, and lost to most will be that on the same day Miguel Ferrer lost his battle to throat cancer. But not lost to his family. Miguel made the world brighter and funnier and his passing is felt so deeply in our family that events of the day, (monumental events), pale in comparison. We love you Miguel. We always will."
