There's no denying that this year's US election has been a truly earth-shattering time for many who are shocked and appalled that such an inflammatory and under-qualified candidate is now president, and Miley Cyrus is no exception.
Although anyone with social media will have seen plenty of people expressing their anger and rage toward Trump supporters, Miley has instead chosen to embrace her loving, tolerant side in the hope that President Trump can find it within himself to do the same for the American people.
In a tearful video, the singer commiserated with her preferred candidate, Hilary Clinton:
"I heavily supported Hillary and I still think that in her lifetime she deserves to be the first female president. And that’s what makes me so sad. I just wish she had that opportunity because she’s fought for so long and because I believe her when she says she loves this country. This is all she’s ever done. She’s given her life to make it better."
She then went on to accept Trump into her heart, inviting the 45th president to treat people with love and compassion during his presidency:
"And happy hippies, we adjust and we accept everyone for who they are. And so, Donald Trump I accept you. I even accept you as president of the United States and that’s fine. That’s fine because I think now I want to be a hopeful hippie... Please just treat people with love, and treat people with compassion, and treat people with respect. And I will do the same for you."

It's great that, even though the election result was not what she wanted, Miley is trying to set a positive example and encouraging a constructive dialogue between the Democrats and Donald Trump.
After all, hatred only breeds more hatred and someone needs to be a big enough person to break the cycle.
