The unusual The National documentary Mistaken for Strangers will moodily croon its way onto select U.S. screens and iTunes March 28.

In the documentary, Tom Berninger, brother of lead singer Matt, accompanies the indie band on The National's world tour. As the director is a professed metal head with a healthy antipathy towards indie rock, the result is unexpected indeed.

Mara Winokur, senior VP of the distributor Starz Digital Media stated the following:

Tom has made an incredibly heartfelt, entertaining and relatable movie. […] We are thrilled to be part of its distribution.

As I a big fan of The National myself, I am all too ready to believe her.
