Dressing up as your favorite Disney characters is every seven-year-old's dream; but for Layla and her mom Camilla Courts, it's a regular hobby. A photographer by trade, Courts has spent the past two years helping Layla take dress-ups to the next level, expressing their mutual love of Disney through a series of stunning photoshoots.
According to an interview with the Huffington Post, the magical journey started at Disneyland, where Layla posed in front of the camera in her brand new princess dress. According to Courts' YouTube channel — where she posts handy tutorials — Layla's collection now boasts at least 40 dresses and 15 wigs; a pretty impressive wardrobe for a seven-year-old.
Layla dresses up as a different #Disney princess each month, with the beautiful results posted to their popular Instagram page. When she's not behind the sewing machine or the camera, Courts sometimes joins in on the #cosplay fun, leading to some heartwarming mother-daughter snaps:

Layla Is A Pro Princess
It really goes without saying, but Layla loves princesses. She's donned almost every Disney dress under the sun, handmade by either her mother or a local seamstress. According to their Instagram, Layla's next attempts include Aladdin's Jasmine, and one of her personal favorite princesses, Beauty and the Beast's Belle.
It's Not All About The Tiara
Layla might love being a princess for a day, but that doesn't mean her love for Disney is limited by ball gowns. She's dressed up as Alice from Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan's Tinkerbell, The Incredibles' Violet and Big Hero 6's Honey Lemon. She's also quite the Harry Potter fan, and has even wielded a wand as Rowena Ravenclaw.
Cute Critters Galore
Courts is quite the Photoshop aficionado, using her know-how to include a menagerie of furry beasts in her photos. After all, working with kids is hard enough without having to deal with the likes of bears and giant elks!
The Force Is With Her
Layla is also a huge Star Wars fan. Apparently her favorite photoshoot to date was "BB-Skate"— a rollerskating interpretation of lovable droid BB-8.
Under The Sea
One of Layla's most incredible shoots has to be her many depictions of The Little Mermaid's Ariel. Courts even got in on the underwater fun and dressed up as villainous sea witch Ursula.
Despite her infectious smile, Layla is actually quite a reserved child. Courts says that cosplay has helped her to find her confidence:
"She’s a very shy child and I see her light up when she gets into costume. She’s gained a lot of confidence since we started the project and has really come out of her shell."
What's A Fairytale Without Its Villain?
Layla isn't the only one having all the fun. Courts has been known to accompany Layla in her shoots, often choosing to dress up as iconic antagonists with the help of makeup artist Missy MacKintosh. Courts treasures the creative time she spends with Layla, and says that even if it were to end, she would treasure the memories forever:
"It’s really very special and even if she wanted to quit tomorrow, I will look back on how much fun we had playing dress-up. It’s truly been magical."
