Having been released in the UK and some other overseas markets, superhero fans will be flocking to cinemas to watch the latest installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Doctor Strange.
The story of Doctor Stephen Strange marks another interesting move for Marvel, having opted to bring a lesser known character to the big screen — much like Ant-Man in 2015 — and to also introduce the world of magic into the MCU. The result is an utterly enjoyable film that is mostly certainly not your standard superhero fare.
But now that you've watched Doctor Strange, what else can you move onto? Fear not, for below are nine (well, 11 technically) movies to ease your transition from Kamar-Taj back into the real world:
1. The Matrix trilogy
Run time: 6 hours 43 minutes in total (The Matrix: 2 hours 16 minutes, The Matrix Reloaded: 2 hours 18 minutes, The Matrix Revolutions: 2 hours 9 minutes)
Why watch this? Because you loved the different universes, the fight scenes and wise leaders. And also cape-like pieces of clothing.
What's it about? After computer hacker, Neo learns that what he believes is real life is actually a simulated reality created by intelligent machines to subdue the humans, he joins the rebellion against the machines to free the enslaved population.
Run time: 2 hours 42 minutes
Why watch this? Because you want another doctor/superhero with magical powers.
What's it about? Vigilante superhero, Rorschach investigate the murder of government agent Edward Blake during the height of the Cold War in 1985. After discovering Blake's superhero identity he uncovers a plot which stands to alter the course of history.
Run time: 2 hours 28 minutes
Why watch this? Because you loved the visuals and also how much the film messed with time.
What's it about? Dom Cobb works as a thief who commits corporate espionage by infiltrating the subconscious of his target and taking information through a shared dream world. However, soon he's presented with the challenge of reversing his process to implant an idea in a target's subconscious, or "inception."
4. The Fountain
Run time: 1 hours 36 minutes
Why watch this? Because you enjoyed the idea of different time, universes and worlds as well as the spiritual aspects of Doctor Strange. And also actresses named 'Rachel'
What's it about? Modern-day scientist Tom struggles with losing his cancer-stricken wife, Izzi, who is writing the story of 16th century Queen Isabella and her betrothed, conquistador Tomás Verde. Meanwhile, as Izzi imagines that her and Tommy's souls will meet again when a star dies, we see space traveler Tommy traveling toward the golden nebula of Xibalba with the Tree of Life, which he believes represents Izzi.

Why watch this? Because you love an origin story about a lesser-known superhero, as well as the crazy visuals.
What's it about? After being coerced into stealing a mystery suit, Scott Lang finds himself being trained to be Ant-Man, a superhero with the ability to shrink to the size of an ant and gain insane strength in the process. Now, Lang must embrace his new super-persona to help his mentor Hank Pym in a quest to save the world.
6. Kill Bill Vol. 2
Run time: 2 hours 17 minutes
Why watch this? Because you're all about a leading character learning ancient arts in order to kick some ass.
What's it about? After The Bride survived a massacre at her wedding rehearsal, she continues her mission from the first film (Kill Bill: Volume 1), to hunt down and kill each member of the Deadly Vipers Assassination Squad. During the film we see The Bride's early training days with the legendary martial arts master Pai Mei, who trained her into the bad ass fighting machine she is today.
7. Iron Man
Run time: 2 hours 6 minutes
Why watch this? Because you want to see another character with the same level of arrogance as Dr. Stephen Strange transform into a superhero.
What's it about? After billionaire genius and playboy, Tony Stark is kidnapped following a missile test in Afghanistan, Stark creates a powerful weaponized suit of armor to escape his captors. Once free, Stark refines his invention and uses to fight evil, and is dubbed "Iron Man."
8. Batman Begins
Run time: 2 hours 20 minutes
Why watch this? Because you enjoy superhero origin films regardless of whether they're Marvel or DC, and particularly enjoyed the training scenes with the Ancient One imparting her wisdom on Strange.
What's it about? After losing his parents at a young age and swearing revenge, Bruce Wayne realizes that true power comes from being feared. From there Wayne embarks on a quest to learn how to confront injustice with the help of a mentor, and eventually returns to rid his home city of corruption and criminals.
Run time: 2 hours 49 minutes
Why watch this? Because you enjoyed the various universes and timelines in Doctor Strange.
What's it about? Set at some point in the future, Joseph Cooper embarks on a mission through a wormhole to find potentially habitable planets in a distant galaxy. However, because some of the areas they are investigating lie close to a black hole, time is severely dilated and while minutes pass in space, years pass on earth.
