Fresh off the heels of his well deserved Emmy win we could forgive #RamiMalek, the undisputed star of #MrRobot, for donning a white tank-top and a fabulously garish yellow jacket, grabbing a microphone and screaming at the top of his lungs "Don't stop me now!" Which, coincidently, is exactly what he's going to do next.
In a movie plagued with 'creative differences,' the highly anticipated Queen biopic, aptly titled #BohemianRhapsody, which will be directed by Bryan Singer (X-Men, X-Men: First Class, X-Men; Days of Future Past and X-Men: Apocalypse), has finally settled on its leading man. With Sacha Baron Cohen initially tied to the role but dropping out because of said 'creative differences,' much hype surrounded who could fill the Adidas Samba sneakers so favored by the worlds greatest frontman. But we need wait no longer.
The Show Must Go On
Taking to his Instagram page to tell the world about his exciting new casting, Bohemian Rhapsody director Bryan Singer posted an image of the original band taken from the Bohemian Rhapsody EP cover which simple stated that he was "Looking forward" to Rami Malek playing #FreddieMercury in the upcoming movie. Naturally, this sent shockwaves of joy across the world.
Malek Is Under Pressure To Deliver
With his incredibly versatile acting skills, enigmatic persona and unnervingly arresting presence, Rami is an exceptionally good choice to play the Killer Queen legend. With original Queen band members Brian May (the one with the hair) and Roger Taylor working very closely with producer Graham King while acting as music producers for the movie, we can expect Bohemian Rhapsody to be an accurate portrayal of the brilliantly dazzling, tragic and inspiring story of Mercury and his band.
Do you think Rami is a good choice to play Freddie Mercury?
