Last year, The Hollywood Reporter put together a roundtable interview between five of the directors nominated for Best Director at the Academy Awards. It was an amazing conversation. This year's Oscar nominees haven't been announced, but The L.A. Times has gathered the directors of six of 2013's most talked-about films for a similar roundtable. (All Is Lost), (Captain Phillips), (Saving Mr. Banks), (Enough Said), (Her), and (12 Years A Slave) talk about their work, their inspirations, and how they deal with criticism.

It wasn't quite as strong as the THR roundtable last year, but this was still an intriguing and engaging discussion.
