's Firefly Sequel would probably be my number one choice if I got told a cancelled franchise could get a reboot. (What's not to love about a rich blend of western and Star Wars?) Plus, after Whedon's stratospheric success with Marvel's The Avengers, I kinda hoped the return of Firefly might happen. Unfortunately, however, there's not been much to keep me motivated and Whedon himself hasn't given us any indication that it's on his list of projects for after The Avengers: Age Of Ultron wraps up.
Well, recently, Hitfix put the question to Firefly protagonist (), who played "everything that a hero is not" Malcolm Reynolds, and here's what he had to say:
So, while the fan-favorite actor didn't seem overly optimistic, he also added that we should never underestimate the Whedon!
As the years go by, I'm afraid to say that the possibility diminishes further. The stories Whedon had planned were meant to capture these characters during a specific period of their lives. It would be tough to swallow the idea that we'd pick up on them more than ten years later and they'd be in exactly the same situation.
Is there a glimmer of hope for Firefly?
