After learning that the upcoming seventh season of American Horror Story will be subtitled Cult, we thought we knew what to expect. That is, Season 7 would clearly focus on some weird cult. However, after the information settled in, we began to wonder — how does a creepy cult tie in with the 2016 presidential election which, according to Ryan Murphy himself, will be a prominent storyline in seventh season?

The first poster for Cult was released his week and that confused things even further. It shows an unnamed woman (as did many of the previous posters) with bees flying into her brain.

If that terrified you as much as it did us, then check out this brand spanking new trailer for American Horror Story: Cult.

If you're buzzing after watching that trailer, rest assured you're not the only one. In addition to the bee-astly poster, Murphy continues to scare his Instagram followers with images of elephant monsters and ambidextrous demons in an attempt to build up anticipation for Season 7. It's working!

, which is set to premiere on September 5, will see Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters take center stage.

Many fans, including myself, were a little annoyed with the lack of Peters during last year's Roanoke season, which featured the actor in a limited capacity. Playing the fictionalized version of Edward Philipe Mott and the actor behind him, Rory Monahan, Peters only appeared in a handle of episodes. Then he died in a brutal way, ahem, twice.

While he did get viewers hot under he collar with several steamy scenes, the actor's absence ultimately affected the show. Peters will feature in a starring role in Cult and the actor has been spotted on set sporting several different hair colors.

Paulson, hot off her Emmy win for The People Vs OJ: American Crime Story, will be playing Peters's love interest in AHS: Cult. In addition to these two AHS regulars, Leslie Grossman, Colton Haynes, Billie Lourd, Billy Eichner and Lena Dunham will be joining the cast in unknown roles.

As we approach September, it's looking like Cult could be scariest American Horror Story season yet. Who knows what kind of creepy bee-havior the show's protagonists will be getting up to. That being said, we can't wait to find out!

American Horror Story: Cult begins September 5th on FX.
