Ever since the Avengers: Infinity War trailer was shown at D23 Expo and San Diego Comic-Con 2017, the hype for the film has reached new levels. In preparation for the film's May 2018 release date, Marvel Studios publicly released a triptych poster, which featured almost every hero in the MCU standing on either side of Thanos. The poster looked great, but that has been our only official look at the highly anticipated third Avengers film.

But now we get another look at some official promo art for Avengers: Infinity War, and it features many of the A-List heroes front and center. The artwork comes by way of award winning Disney license artist Steve Cas, and it gives us are best up-close look at some of the new costumes and designs that will be featured in .

New Avengers: Infinity War Promo Art

The first piece of promo art showcases the new looks of the handsomely bearded Captain America, Iron Man in his new Extremis/Bleeding Edge armor, and Spider-Man in the MCU's version of the Iron Spider suit we saw at the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming. It also gives us a great look at teenage Groot, as well as Rocket and Star-Lord. Most of the heroes’ costumes look shiny and fresh however, Cap looks like he has seen better days, and almost looks like he has already been through hell.

Along with the close-up of the heroes, Cas also shared a wider shot of the artwork, which clearly features Thanos’s face looming behind the Avengers and Guardians. It is worth mentioning that these pieces might be a work in progress, which is why there are only a handful of MCU characters and A-Listers like Thor, Black Widow, Scarlet Witch, and Gamora are missing. This seems to be the case, because Cas also shared a photo of Hulk standing in front of the Avengers symbol, yet he is not featured in the group picture.

The new promo art looks fantastic, and I can't wait to see the finished product. Hopefully, all our favorite MCU characters will be showcased, but just based off the sheer number of characters appearing in the film, it's likely we'll get a ton of pieces featuring different collections of characters.

With May 4, 2018 inching closer, this is only the beginning of the amazing promo art we will see before Avengers: Infinity War premieres.
