Even though is not returning to direct 300: Rise of an Empire, it's clear that a certain amount of the visual aesthetic established in the first 300 is carrying over into the sequel. Granted, this likely due to the fact that both films are based on graphic novels. In any event, visual style is already becoming a hallmark of this burgeoning franchise.

That's why I'm really interested to check out 300: Rise of an Empire: The Art of the Film by Titan Books. Superhero Hype has some early images from the coffee table art book, and what I find so interesting about it is that it's not merely concept art that's featured, but also breakdowns of visual effects as well.
