Henry Cavill's return as Superman in Justice League has been an interesting topic. He's absent from most of the marketing (so far) and the first official trailer — but it's no secret that he's in the movie. However, we now have a new promotional image that features the Man of Steel himself.

A Reddit user shared a movie theater insert promoting Justice League that depicts Superman floating above the team. The image is one of very few promotional releases to feature Cavill, as it appears that Warner Bros. is trying to keep Superman's return to the a bit hidden from view.

The appearance of in this promotional image is fueling rumors online that he will return in Justice League as "evil Superman" and that a new trailer to drop at San Diego Comic-Con International will support this theory. However, we have no real information regarding this — or regarding Superman's DCEU future in general. It's also rumored that he will appear in Shazam, along with a sequel to Zack Snyder's 2013 film, Man of Steel.

Either way we look at it, we don't have too much longer to wait to see the fate of Superman after the events of Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. All we know for now is that he will join fellow DC Comics icons such as Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, the Flash and Cyborg when Justice League hits theaters on November 17, 2017.

How do you think Superman will return to the DCEU? Leave a comment and let us know!
