As it stands, there's still a lot that we don't know about the upcoming Fantastic Beasts plot-line. However, one thing has been cleared up and that is that the next movies in the franchise will most likely focus on Leta Lestrange, played by Zoë Kravitz.
If you need a reminder – in the first instalment, the mysterious Leta is mentioned when Queenie catches a glimpse of a framed picture of her in Newt's office. Although not much is revealed, we find out that she shares some kind of difficult history (probably romantic) with Scamander and that she certainly played a very important part in his past.
And considering Queenie described her as a "taker" after using her legilimens power on Newt, there's much to suggest she has a dark side to her.
As to how do we know that Lestrange will form a titular part of the series? Well, when a fan recently asked the authoress who Leta was, J.K. simply replied:
And in addition to this, we also recently learned some further information about the elusive lady when director David Yates himself revealed in an interview:
"Leta Lestrange comes into the second movie. She's quite complicated and damaged and confused and Newt is absolutely still in love with her, so she has a kind of power over him, and she, yeah, she's a kind of tragic figure, so we will see a bit more of her in the second movie."
Wow. Sounds like an intense lovestory is brewing behind closed doors at Warner Bros. We can't wait to find out more!
Are you excited to see more of Leta Lestrange?
