It sounds like Nic Cage is burnt out on Johnny Blaze...
Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance was pretty great. As a fan of the movie's directors and Bryan Taylor well before this Marvel adaptation, and as a fan of 's signature brand of exaggerated performances, Spirit of Vengeance was a movie that worked for me on every level - or, at least, the ones that matter.
That said, I'll admit that it's not a movie for everyone. So, perhaps it's not surprising to hear that Cage is done making Ghost Rider movies. In fact, Cage revealed to MTV that if another flick does go forward, it won't be with him:
>I think the ship has sailed on that one. At least with me involved. I've done what I had to do with that part. You never say never, but right now, today, I would say that I'm done.
Sometimes you gotta move on. All's well that ends well?
It'll be interesting to see what Sony does with the property. Will they let it slip back to Marvel like Lionsgate did with Punisher? You can never tell with studio logic. Even Marvel Studios, who have done a great job with their properties, might have a tricky time bringing the strange story of an undead, former stuntman motorcyclist who gives up his soul to become a hellblazing vigilante to the screen... What do you think?
