Earlier this week, the first set photo of the upcoming Jumanji sequel was posted online by Kevin Hart. In the photo, Hart was joined by the other stars of the film — Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan — on the set of the film in full costume. Check it out below!
These aren't the only stars of the film, though. Originally, Tom Holland — who's best known for playing Spider-Man in Civil War, and his upcoming appearance in Spider-Man: Homecoming — was also a part of this noteworthy cast. Holland is a rising actor in Hollywood, and certainly would have sold a lot of tickets for this movie.
While no details about Holland's character was ever released, we can imagine he would have played a significant role. In fact, his character could have been similar to Robin William's character in the first Jumanji — a figure trapped in the world of the game and struggling to survive.
Unfortunately, taking on the role of Spider-Man interfered with Tom's other projects. Jumanji just began production, whereas Spider-Man: Homecoming, and stars Tom Holland in the titular role, is still shooting. It seems Holland had to pass on Jumanji to play the wall-crawler, as he cannot be two places at once. Peter Parker may be able to live a double life, but Holland, who is under contract, cannot.
So, Holland chose Spider-Man: Homecoming over Jumanji. This is a pity, as I would have seriously enjoyed seeing the Spider-Man actor show up in this exciting sequel. Nevertheless, the role was open for casting again, and someone had to fill it. And you'll never believe who they got...
The former Jonas Brother recently stepped down from performing on stage and began performing on camera. The new actor has appeared in shows like Smash, Hawaii Five-0, Scream Queens, and Kingdom. He has also held leading roles in movies like Goat and Be Careful What You Wish For.
Jonas is a big name celebrity due to his music career, but he also does have quite a bit of acting experience. I am looking forward to seeing the former Jonas Brother in a large movie like Jumanji, so we can see how well he can do when he's given a real chance to shine in front of the camera.

I am quite excited for Jumanji. With a cast including Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Karen Gillan, and Nick Jonas, the movie is already full of talent. I am looking forward to seeing the finished product, and seeing how well Nick Jonas does.
As much of a bummer as it is that Tom Holland won't be in the movie, I am confident that Nick Jonas can put on a good show. He always does.
What do you think, though? Let me know in the comments, and thanks for reading!
