Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder have made no secret of their feverish anticipation to welcome a new, human arrival to their family of fur babies, and now it seems like the wait is finally over.
E! News recently announced that the fan-favorite couple are now proud parents to their first child. The baby girl arrived on July 25 and has been named Bodhi Soleil Reed Somerhalder.
There is no denying that Bodhi's unusual name is a perfect fit for her parents' free spirited lifestyle, and her arrival will also be greeted by something that is just so in line with her parents' thinking: A month of silence to appreciate the fact that she simply is:
"We’ll take the baby’s first month for ourselves. After the baby arrives, we’re doing one month of silence. Just the three of us, no visitors, and we’re turning off our phones too, so there’s no expectation for us to communicate. Otherwise, every five minutes it would be, 'How are you feeling? Can we have a picture?' You don’t get those first 30 days back, and we want to be fully present."
Although the baby was only born 17 days ago, the new parents' silence as an isolated family unit must have lapsed at some point for the details to have be released to the outside world.
Raising your first baby entirely alone for an entire month with no advice from friends and family is a tough order, so absolutely no judgement on Ian and Nikki if they have indeed decided to widen their circle a little.
