If you're a Vampire Academy fan like me, you've been closely following the casting for , and you probably had a strong opinion about the casting of , , and as leads Rose Hathaway, Lissa Dragomir, and Dimitri Belikov, respectively (love it, love it, and growing on me).

Now, Deadline is reporting that blossoming A-lister , fresh off a star turn in Oblivion, has been cast in a major supporting role for the film...but it's probably not the one you think: She's set to play Headmistress Kirova.

Really? I mean...I totally would have pegged her for the role of Tasha Ozera, if anyone. Seriously, look at that face up there and tell me it's not tailor-made for the role. She seems far too young (not to mention gorgeous) to be playing the stern and matronly Headmistress Kirova, who is basically the Russian version of Professor Minerva McGonagall, at least in my imagination. Could this be a matter of having cast the right person, but in the wrong role? If you don't understand what I'm talking about, check out Kurylenko in Centurion (great flick) and tell me she wouldn't be perfect as the feisty, duplicitous, ass-kicking Tasha.

What say you, Vampire Academy fans? Do you love this casting? Do you hate it? And, most importantly, who should be cast as Christian Ozera? What about Adrian Ivashkov? Let us know - and click [[follow]] to keep updated on all the latest VA news. [[poll]]
