This article contains spoilers from The Flash Season 3, Episode 18 "Abra Kadabra."

If you've been watching The Flash this season, you will know that Barry Allen has been consumed with saving the woman he loves — Iris West — from being murdered by Savitar. In the midst of this, he was also told that he would defeat the God of Speed in the future, but that wouldn't come until after Iris' death.

Thus, in the closing moments of the most recent episode, Barry concluded that he would turn to the one person who could help him — his future self.

The promo for the next episode, "The Once And Future Flash," reveals that Barry does indeed follow his own advice and travels to the future to meet his older, defeated self. Moreover, the trailer also gives us a look at the brand new suit he dons, which is very loyal to the comic books. However, the most intriguing thing about the next episode happens to be the year he travels to, as this holds major significance to The Flash.

2024 On April 25th

As the trailer indicates, Barry time-travels to 2024 to consult his broken, beaten future self. While he may or may not get the information he's looking for, the year he travels to suggests that an even greater evil may be waiting for him.

The Flash has taken a monthlong hiatus and will return to the CW on April 25th. So, in case you're still scratching your head, let me put it like this — Barry Allen will travel to 2024 on April 25th. That date is, of course, synonymous with that futuristic newspaper in Dr. Wells' time vault, which has been a recurring presence on the show since the beginning.

The headline reveals that the Flash himself ends up vanishing in a "crisis." Moreover, back in Seasons 1 and 2, the futuristic article was written by Iris West-Allen but changed to Julie Greer when the timeline was altered, indicating that Iris is indeed dead in 2024 due to the ramifications of Flashpoint.

Furthermore, the trailer itself may have even alluded to the impending crisis. When Barry arrives in the future, he figures out the date by checking a newspaper — a neat little callback to the 2024 newspaper from the first season.

Will Barry's Arrival In The Future Cause The Crisis?

In all likelihood, Barry will be traveling to April 25th, 2024. But if future Barry hasn't vanished yet, then the crisis has yet to take place; thus we have to wonder if present-day Barry's time-traveling antics are what result in the crisis that has been prophesied since Season 1. Remember, this will mark the first time he has time traveled since reversing the effects of Flashpoint. And as we have seen so many times before, time travel ends up creating a ripple and eventually the changes catch up to him.

The fact that The Flash returns to our screens on April 25th with an episode that will see Barry travel to 2024 suggests that he will either cause or witness the infamous crisis of April 25th, 2024. It's just too much of a coincidence, which means the showrunners likely predicted the air date, and planned an episode to bring us ever so close to solving the show's biggest mystery of all.

But the question is: will Barry Allen be able to save Iris and stop the crisis from ever happening?

Do you think we will see the Crisis unfold in the next episode of 'The Flash'?
