It's been a tough week for fans of after star Jennifer Morrison announced that she would be leaving the show should ABC pick it up for a seventh season. Our collective hearts were further crushed when Rebecca Mader confirmed that she would not be returning either.

After put an end to the rumors of cancellation and renewed the hit fairytale series for a seventh season yesterday, the show's executive producers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz have announced that another four major cast members will not be returning for Season 7. Here's who they are:

Ginnifer Goodwin

Goodwin has played Snow White since the very first season of Once Upon A Time, and her main character status has ensured that she was always the center of the show's storylines. It's hard to imagine the series without Snow's optimism and constant positivity. Kitsis and Horowitz spoke to TV Line about Goodwin, saying:

“Ginny reinvented Snow White for a modern audience — there was no way she would be stuck cleaning up after dwarfs. She created an iconic empowered heroine for the twenty-first century."

We'll always find you, Snow!

Josh Dallas

Goodwin's real life and on-screen partner, Dallas plays Prince Charming on Once Upon A Time and has done so since the very beginning. Being husband to Snow and father to Emma, Charming has encountered some pretty big threats over the years but his love for his family has always gotten him through the worst. Kitsis and Horowitz noted:

“Josh mined the depths of Prince Charming — a character who in myth was just a ‘type’ but in his superlative interpretation became a complex man fighting for love and family."

Emilie De Ravin

De Ravin has been with the hit series since the end of the first season, and her character Belle has played a crucial role in getting Rumplestiltskin to embrace his inner goodness. Once took a risk by making Belle and Rumple their version of Beauty and the Beast, but there's no doubt that it paid off and, even with Emma Watson's portrayal of the character in the recent film, Emilie De Ravin brought a warmth to the character never seen before and we're really going to miss her. Kitsis and Horowtiz had this to say:

"Emilie took the character of Belle to a deep and soulful place, bringing great intelligence and warmth to the character, making her fiercely independent, strong-willed but also an eternal optimist who saw only the best in all those she encountered."

Jared S. Gilmore

Gilmore has also been with Once Upon A Time since the very beginning and, let's face it, if it weren't for Henry Mills there would be no Once Upon A Time. Despite Morrison's leading role, Henry was arguably the protagonist of the series and his departure from the show will remove not one but two of the greatest mother/son relationships on TV. On Gilmore's departure, Kitsis and Horowitz had this to say:

"And Jared literally grew up before the eyes of millions, from a child actor with enormous innate talent to a young man whose abilities continue to astound as he created a character who truly, as we say on the show, has the heart of the truest believer.”

The producers plan a complete reset of the show as it enters its seventh season — and with The Walking Dead's Andrew J. West and Jane The Virgin's Alison Fernandez set to play key roles, it's looking more and more like Once Upon A Time is preparing to write the final chapter for the characters we have grown to love.

Once Upon A Time airs its two hour season finale this Sunday on ABC.
