Awards season is nearly finished, but before we can wrap up this year's round of speeches, gowns and red carpet showdowns, there's one big event left on the calendar: the 89th Annual Academy Awards.

This year, the Oscars will air on February 26th. What better way to celebrate another great year in cinema than with a viewing party where you serve up delicious Oscar-themed cocktails? For every Best Picture nominee — and two extras — we've carefully chosen a complimentary cocktail to help you show your allegiance to that film. Trust us, you'll be seeing stars by the end of the night.

The Moonlight Cocktail

The Moonlight Cocktail gets its name from the 1942 big band song composed by Luckey Roberts, with lyrics from Kim Gannon. While it's been around a lot longer than Barry Jenkins, the purple-ish blue coloring from the Creme de Violette compliments the blue color palette of the new movie.

  • 1 1/2 oz gin
  • 1/2 oz Cointreau
  • 1/2 oz creme de violette
  • 1/2 oz lime juice

Shake with ice, strain, and serve in a cocktail glass.

  • 2 oz cloudy lemonade
  • prosecco

The Moonwalk

Bartender Joe Gilmore first mixed the Moonwalk in 1969 to celebrate the Moon Landing. Although it happened a few years after John Glenn's trip into space, it never would have been possible without the work of Katherine Johnson, Mary Jackson, Dorothy Vaughan, and the rest of the incredible women at NASA.

  • 1 oz fresh grapefruit juice
  • 1 oz orange liqueur, preferably Grand Marnier
  • 3 drops rose water
  • Champagne or sparkling wine, for topping

Serve in a champagne flute.

  • 1 tsp Benedictine
  • Well-chilled semi dry Champagne or Prosecco

The Femme Fatale

Jackie Kennedy caused quite the stir when she decided to shake things up at the White House by serving cocktails instead of the traditional big bowl of punch. The following recipe was created in her honor after she visited the Raffles Hotel in Cambodia in 1967.

  • 1/4 oz strawberry liqueur
  • dash of cognac
  • champagne
  • a rose for garnish

Pour strawberry liqueur and cognac in a champagne flute. Top with champagne.
