After 17 years of playing Wolverine, Hugh Jackman will be hanging up his adamantium claws and healing factor for good. Logan has been met with amazing reviews from critics already (95 percent on Rotten Tomatoes and 9.7 on IGN) and it appears that Logan will be the perfect swan song in the trilogy.

This movie is supposed to be loosely based on an alternate reality Wolverine (Old Man Logan) that is old and retired from being a hero. This got me wondering if people know just how many alternate reality Logans there are in the comics universe. Not only are there a plethora, but they are all different. Some aren't even mutants, heroes, or survivors of the Weapon X Program. So, let's have a look at some of the best alternate reality Logans throughout the Marvel Universe and explore what makes them unique from the regular Marvel Earth 616 Universe.

7. 'Age Of Apocalypse': Earth-295

This Logan comes from a world where Professor Xavier never started the X-Men. In fact, he's dead. Magneto is leading the X-Men and this Logan's name is Weapon X. This Logan is more ruthless, had his arm blasted off by Cyclops, and was actually in a relationship with Jean Grey. Later on in this reality, Logan actually becomes Apocalypse and is worse than En Sabah Nur.

is loosely based off of this reality's Logan — a reality where the villains teamed up and beat or killed all of the heroes. But Logan got the worst of all of them. Logan was tricked by Mysterio into thinking that he was fighting villains when he was fighting his fellow X-Men. Logan ended up killing them all. When he realized what he did, he wandered for days until he came across train tracks. He put his head on one of the tracks and waited for a train to run over his head. It wasn't enough to kill him, but the pain he felt was enough to torture him a bit.

5. 'Ultimate Wolverine': Earth-1610

In a universe where superheroes became the norm much later in life (late 1990s to early 2000s), a lot of our favorite heroes were a bit messed up. Logan was not an exception to this. Logan started off as just a regular guy in one of the World Wars who was experimented on after the fighting ceased. As a result of these experiments, he became the world's first mutant. This Logan was a dirty, perverse jerk but he was just as much the hero as his 616 counterpart — ready and willing to sacrifice himself if it meant his team and family would live on. But wait, that's not the only Ultimate Logan.

4. 'Ultimate Cable': Earth-1610

Logan is this reality's time-hopping, one-armed soldier from the future. Just like 616's Cable, Logan is from a future where Apocalypse ruled the world. Instead of the techno-organic virus giving Cable the metal arm, in his past, Apocalypse rips it off and then cuts Logan's face with Logan's own claws. All of this is after he was stripped of his mutant powers

3. 'Wolverine Noir': Earth-90214

In a Marvel world with no super powers (except Spider-Man, of course) there would have to be a Logan. He's a private eye in a very dirty part of town. Jim Logan and his partner run the detective agency (Logan and Logan) where Logan spends most of his time drinking and Dog spends it playing with a wooden knife. Furthermore, if there is a Logan, there has to be a Sabretooth. This Sabretooth is smarter and more cunning than the 616 Victor Creed. He's a known criminal, but no one can prove it because he's that good at hiding it.

2. 'Days Of The Future Past': Earth-811

The humans got what they wanted: A world where mutants were either locked up in interment camps or killed. After North America was under control, the Sentinels made their way around the world not only going after mutants, but all super heroes. Logan, Kitty Pryde, Rachel Grey, Colossus, Magneto and Storm make an attempt to send Kitty back in time to stop the assassination that set their future in motion.

While not exactly an alternate universe, this was a different Logan. And since there is probably a House of M reality out there, I will allow it. Logan never joined the X-Men; he was essentially Nick Fury. He and his Red Guard team of Rogue, his girlfriend Mystique (go figure), Toad (I don't get it either), Nightcrawler (who had a good relationship with his mother, Mystique), and Jessica Drew were S.H.I.E.L.D.'s great team, having never failed a mission. Wanda gave all of the heroes everything they always wanted. She gave Logan his memories and apparently he always wanted to be Nick Fury.
