Everyone likes to feel like they're on the front lines of fashion, but what if you consider yourself a true style trailblazer? If SS/18 seems too pedestrian for you, it might be time to cast your gaze even further into future — and into the outer reaches of space — for fashion inspiration.

Forget your favorite style vlogger, tear up your Elle magazine and fire up your Netflix account to source yourself some seriously space-age style. Here are our favorite five looks from films.

1. Pris In 'Blade Runner' (1982)

Granted, there's probably nothing that Daryl Hannah couldn't make look cool in the '80s, but the costume design for “basic pleasure model” Priscilla Stratton (a.k.a. Pris) still looks ridiculously fierce to this day. Mesh sleeves, short dresses, visible straps and stockings — we're calling it — this is a bona fide, cut and dried lewk.

2. Yori In 'Tron' (1982)

1982 was clearly a good year for science fiction fashion. The costume worn by Cindy Morgan to play Yori in blends the far out and the retro in a ridiculously visually pleasing way. Who doesn't love a bodysuit, after all? Especially a full body, luminous number? We'd love to see this design on a vintage space-inspired leotard — it's a classic!

3. 'Barbarella' (1968)

Every outfit Jane Fonda wears in this iconic '60s sci-fi movie is (not quite) literally gold. From chainmail to perspex body armor, shimmering green sequined bodysuits and kick-ass ankle boots, every inch of Fonda's (admittedly pretty tiny) outfits is pure fashion goals.

4. Jessica 6 In 'Logan's Run' (1976)

The romantic green drapery of Jessica 6's tunic in Logan's Run — worn by Jenny Agutter — is pure fashion fantasy, especially when combined with both a historical and a futuristic feel. This clash of old and new, all wrapped up in '70s styling with the daring addition of a full side slit, make this one of our favorite looks from sci-fi movie history.

5. Gamora In 'Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2' (2017)

Time for something a little more contemporary. It isn't easy being green (as Kermit the frog will attest), but Zoe Saldana makes going green look good. Gamora's layered leather suit with mesh and strap detailing are right on trend when it comes to this year's penchant for sexy layering. Keep your eyes peeled for Gamora's get up in this year's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
