There are several Peter Pan movies in the works at the moment, however it seems at least one of them is making good progress.

Deadline is reporting that Warner Bros Pan has just hooked a leading man. of Tron: Legacy and Inside Llewyn Davis fame is to become the dastardly Hook in 's adaptation of J.M. Barrie famous children's tale.

Apparently, Hedlund saw off competition from Boardwalk Empire's and The Perks of Being a Wallflower's to grab the role.

The movie is still in its early stages of pre-production, with the script being completed by Jason Fuchs. According to Deadline, the script features an orphan who is "taken to the magical world of Neverland, where he becomes the savior of the natives and leads a rebellion against evil pirates."

The site is also claiming that both and are reportedly up for the role of Blackbeard. This is rather quite interesting as it suggests Fuchs has messed around with the story a bit to also accommodate Treasure Island's most famous swashbuckler.

Who would you ideally like to see play the villainous pirate king? Let us know below.
