Who would have thought that Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones would breathe new life into the seven year old franchise? Certainly not me. I thought it was all a cheap ploy: Marketing a "Latino-themed" PA movie for a little extra cash. Instead, it deliberately avoided certain hallmarks of the franchise that became boring and turned it into something exciting.
This begs the question: Can we still enjoy several more films in the series?
Marked Ones director and series creator certainly think so. In fact, he says that the entire series is mapped out to have an explosive ending tying everything together:
"We've always been looking ahead. I'll say this much. There is a very specific end goal and I'm hoping we have enough time in the franchise to get there.
We have a really big idea that's at the finish line but we need time to get there. So we're hoping the fans keep coming back and allow us to get them there."
He goes on to say that ending was laid out in the first PA film, but that the second movie really allowed for crazy ideas to start flying around. Do you think The Marked Ones got the series back on track?
