You are floating through deep space on a seemingly never-ending voyage to a new planet. The distant orb promises a new home, a fresh start, and an oasis of opportunity. Unlike the characters in the film Passengers, however, you are not alone. So who on earth do you choose from the world of celebrity to get you there?

Sci-Fi Scenarios - 'Passengers'
In Passengers, protagonists Aurora (played by Jennifer Lawrence) and Jim (Chris Pratt) embark on a 120-year journey to the planet Homestead II, only to wake up from their galactic hibernation years before everyone else on the ship. (Well, Jim is awakened by mistake; Aurora is awakened by Jim.)
Isolated on the ship with no way of going back to sleep, serious drama ensues as they try to save themselves, and eventually the lives of the other passengers.
#JenniferLawrence and #ChrisPratt are arguably the most complimentary action-hero pairing of the moment. Pairing them for an adventure in space seems obvious. But who would you or I want around while hurtling through space and time on the brink of destruction? You have got to think about these things, of course. Here are my top five celebs that could easily turn space cadet, if required.
1. Tom Hardy
Tom Hardy is Hollywood's most ruthless renegade. With gun skills, grit, and vengeful tactics in his acting arsenal, he is more likely to swear in the face of adversity than face defeat. He loves dogs and is good looking, too, so... priorities.
2. Zooey Deschanel
Floating aimlessly through an isolated expanse requires empathy and optimism, and Zooey Deschanel's characters exude this by the ship load. Her artistic talent doesn't end with acting; as the front woman of the band She and Him, she could help while away the years with spaceship concerts and on-board vocal lessons.
3. Chris Pratt
A star lord. A dinosaur tamer. Andy from Parks and Rec. Chris Pratt would definitely give us a laugh above all else. 120 years is a long time to be stuck with someone solemn. His acting backlog shows he is kind of a pro at this whole galaxy thing; catch him in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 in theaters on May 5th.
4. Viola Davis
Viola Davis is known for her no-nonsense, powerful, and formidable characters, and for her personal strength to speak up about injustice in society. Her confidence and belief would most likely give you a better outlook on life and, let's face it, she is a total badass.
5. Keanu Reeves
Keanu is the one man who has been in enough Hollywood sci-fi to have picked up some life-saving tips along the way. Did you know he was originally set to produce and star as Jim in #Passengers? If that is not proof the action hero can get on board, nothing is. If all else fails, we could always just sit down and dream up plots for John Wick: Chapter 3 and a fourth Matrix movie.
So, grab your space helmets and prepare to sound off - we would love to hear your thoughts. Would you want someone diligent, funny, or undeniably famous to be your intergalactic plus-one? Your mission awaits.
