Although 's Furious 7 won't hit theaters until next Summer, series star - who plays protagonist Brian O'Conner - has spoken about Universal's intentions for the franchise, and he seems convinced that there will be plenty more to come!
Speaking to Collider, the thesp revealed:
Well, the studio supposedly wants 8, 9 and 10. I'll be 50. Even if 7 were to [tank], there's at least an 8. That's a guarantee.
Frankly, I'm not surprised. These days in Hollywood, there's nothing a studio likes more than owning a successful franchise, and at this point why would they want to stop? Still going strong after 12 engine-revving years and five car-smashing sequels, the latest entry - 's Fast & Furious 6 - raked in a whopping $98.5 million on the opening weekend.
Fast & Furious 6 clearly wanted to be bigger and better than it's predecessor - and judging by what we've seen of Furious 7 - it's also following suit. No franchise I can think of has somersaulted into the stratosphere so long after it's beginning, so what the hell can we expect for Fast & Furious 8? Are you excited by this news?
