Many fans know that actor Paul Walker was killed after hosting a charity event for Philippine Typhoon victims, but another gesture highlighting his generous nature has only recently been revealed.
In 2004, Paul Walker was in a jewellery store in Santa Barbara. By coincidence, so were soldier Kyle Upham and his wife, Kristen.
Paul overheard the military couple talking about the diamond ring that Kyle wanted to buy for his wife, and that they couldn't afford it. Although Kristen didn't recognize the star, she remembers speaking to him, telling CBS:
When he found out Kyle just came back from Iraq - I remember seeing the look in his face. He kind of transformed.
What happened next is truly heartwarming.
Walker, in a sincere act of generosity for the brave soldier and his wife, bought the $9,000 ring for the Uphams, telling the Santa Barbara jewellers to gift it to the military couple.
The Uphams received a call from the store, telling them that the ring they'd set their hearts on had been gifted to them by an anonymous donor.
The truth has only recently come out, when the clerk from the store went to CBS after Walker's passing, feeling that the world should know about his simple act of kindness.
Mrs Upham continued:
[Paul Walker's] real life speaks volumes of his character. He really did put his money where his mouth is and did good for this world.
