Whether Game of Thrones fans wanted it or not, it happened. Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen took their mutual admiration to the next level with a steamy hookup. The sexual tension has been growing all season, and they look quite well together — until you remember they are related, resulting in a visceral reaction. The HBO show, which has never shied away from incest, at least gave Jon and Dany some credit as the two are currently unaware they are related by Targaryen blood.

The coupling has some serious implications, and the cast is now speaking out about the long-hinted romance. posted a behind the scenes commentary "A Union of Ice & Fire," featuring members of the cast speaking out about the Jon and Dany relationship. and , who play Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen, both had hilarious, gag-inducing reactions to the hook-up. Clarke has been outspoken about how she thinks her character will react, and it does not look good for Jon and Dany shippers. They added that even without knowing Jon's true identity, the characters both knew it was wrong to get together, but it was bound to happen.

Along with Isaac Hempstead-Wright, spoke about what the powerful duo's union means:

"It's dangerous for everybody involved. I'm sure it's good for both of them in the moment, but you don't even get the relief of how beautiful it could be or should be. It's just it's not good — but it should be but it's not. It's Game of Thrones. It's a long history of romance not ending well on this show."

Dinklage's comments about romance not working out on the show could also explain Tyrion's reaction as he watched Jon enter Dany's cabin. Many fans thought that Tyrion could have been in love with Dany and his expression was that of jealousy. Though from the comments from Dinklage, it seems as if Tyrion is more worried about the risks and complications that the romance could cause for the greater mission on hand.

IGN spoke to the season finale's director Jeremy Podeswa, who gave further explanation to Tyrion's reaction:

"It is a moment that’s open to interpretation, but I have my own feelings as to what it was about. And I certainly talked to Peter [Dinklage] about it too. For me, what it was is that Tyrion is always thinking a few steps ahead about everything and I think that Daenerys and Jon hooking up in this way - it creates a complication. The consequences of this complication, at this point, are unknown.

I think so much depends on both of these characters and whenever you mix romantic feelings into things, when it comes to people who were previously just colleagues with a common enemy now having a different relationship, it's difficult. How will this affect the decisions they make? How will affect things moving forward? For Tyrion, who’s a strategist, this becomes a potential problem because it’s a big question mark. What are the consequences of this going to be?"

Tyrion has a duty as the Hand of the Queen, and her distraction with a new love interest might not be an ideal situation as they head into the Great War. There might be much more tension on the horizon if this new romance goes south.
