SPOILER ALERT: If you haven't watched the last episode of Season 8 of How I Met Your Mother, click away now! Wow! The cover of this week's issue of Entertainment Weekly suggests it's going to be a boozy, sexy, hell-raising season on How I Met Your Mother. The cover shows us series stars Ted (), Robin (), Barney (), Marshall () and Lily (), with one focal character noticeably absent: the titular mother, who appeared in the final moments of Season 8.

Season 9 looks set to cover Robin and Barney's wedding, which is probably why everyone looks like they partied hearty the night before on EW's cover. The EW website delivered what the cover only teased: producing a couples shot of Ted and 'Mother' together:

The 'Mother' is played by the beautiful , who in her interview with EW admitted she hadn’t actually watched the show before she was cast. She also opened up about the top-secret casting process:

I received a phone call from my agents, and they said, "How I Met Your Mother would like to interview you for a possible character arc," and I asked, "What's the character?" And they said, "We don’t know." So I had a Skype meeting with [creators] Craig [Thomas] and Carter [Bays], and we talked maybe for a half hour. I told them about Once, and a few days later they sent people to the show. Then I was told that I was going to fly to L.A. to test for this role, but I still had no idea what it was. They were so secretive, so I had my suspicions. The day I shot [my first scene], it was really on lockdown. All the extras in that train station are producers and writers of the show. It was so beautiful, because I got to meet everyone and they were incredibly welcoming.

Do you think Cristin's a good pick for 'Mother'? Let me know your thoughts below.
