Many of us grew up on R-rated movies we had no business watching. We consumed horror classics like Saturday morning cartoons. Then the MPAA got involved. Underage kids were banned from bloodlust, which is what makes Movies R Fun, a new book by Pixar story supervisor Josh Cooley so great. He's illustrated the iconic moments that still give us nightmares.

I recently spoke to Josh about why these five horrific scenes stand out as some of his favorites. The book has recently gotten so much attention that it's currently out of stock on Amazon, but you can still grab copies at Barnes & Noble and ThinkGeek.

The Silence of the Lambs

"Hannibal Lecter! He's terrifying YET is helping the hero of the movie. Such a great character."

"I'm always shocked at how shocking this film is whenever I watch it. Masterful filmmaking."

Rosemary's Baby

"This movie feels like a nightmare that you can't wake up from all the way to the last frame."

"Alien always feels so real to me. The performances are so believable I forget I'm watching a film."

The Shining

"Scariest movie ever. I love the way it's shot."
