This article contains major spoilers from the season finale of DC's Legends Of Tomorrow.
Legends Of Tomorrow's explosive second season bowed out as the time-traveling #superheroes faced off against the Legion of Doom with both time and reality itself at stake. Much like they had all season, the Legends hit a lot of setbacks along the way, but in the end managed to do what they do best — save the world!
The incredible finale was rife with catastrophic moments, all of which will have major implications on the show's future. And if you can manage to wrap your head around all the aberrations, future selves and time quakes, let's take a look at the five biggest questions we are left with as we await Season 3:
1. What Have They Done Now?
The Legends were certainly busy during the Season 2 finale — not only did they manage to undo the rewritten reality known as Doomworld, they also managed to convince their past selves to help them keep the Spear of Destiny out of the Legion's hands before successfully rewriting reality back to the way it should be. Moreover, they defeated the Legion of Doom and returned the surviving members to their rightful places in the timeline.
However, just when the team was going to journey to Aruba to celebrate their victory, they were attacked by another time storm — a consequence of interacting with themselves back in 1916. The storm resulted in the Legends crash-landing in Los Angeles 2017. The only problem is that it isn't the same 2017 they left.
The episode concluded as the Legends looked out through the window of the damaged Waverider to see a bizarre, futuristic city inhabited by dinosaurs. While it's highly likely that the early part of Season 3 will be about restoring the timeline, we have to wonder if it's even possible. After all, how could they even begin to undo this?
2. Will Rip Hunter Be Back?
While Rip Hunter was M.I.A. for the majority of the season, that doesn't change the fact that he is and always will be Captain of the Waverider. The Legends did manage to save him and he willingly returned to the team, but he found that Sara had become quite an incredible captain in his absence.
However, Season 2 ended with Rip leaving the Legends once and for all, citing Sara's rise as captain, which made him realize that she was far better at the job than he was. Whether you agree with that or not, there wouldn't be any Legends without Rip Hunter. So, we have to ask the question — can you imagine a third season of Legends Of Tomorrow without Rip Hunter? I know it's not really something I would want to see.

3. Have We Seen The Last Of Laurel Lance?
It's no secret that one of the primary arcs this season was White Canary Sara Lance's quest to save her sister. Laurel Lance was killed by the Legion of Doom's Damien Darhk in Season 4 of #Arrow, and fans have long since hoped that the Black Canary would return to the #Arrowverse. But despite temptations from the Spear of Destiny, Sara decided against rewriting her sister's fate.
However, when Sara finally gained possession of the Spear, time momentarily stopped and she found herself back on the sofa with Laurel — just like old times. Alive and well, the glowing older Lance informed her sister that she was capable of doing the right thing and helped her save the team. In beautiful moment, the Canary sisters hugged as Laurel told her that while this may not have been real, she was "never too far away" — insinuating that the real Laurel had found peace and was watching over her sister.
While Katie Cassidy is returning to Arrow as a series regular for Season 6, she will be portraying Laurel's Earth-2 doppelgänger Black Siren. Thus, it was nice to see the original Laurel Lance share this touching moment with her sister. But now with Laurel's story wrapped up, we have to wonder if we will ever see the Black Canary again. I certainly hope so.
4. Has The Reverse-Flash Finally Bowed Out?
They say you can't outrun your own fate, and Eobard Thawne is certainly proof of that. As we found out on #TheFlash last season, this version of the Reverse-Flash is a time aberration — meaning that he shouldn't even exist (especially since the character is technically dead). However, when a time aberration with super-speed mucks up the timeline, Black Flash comes to collect.
The zombified speedster has been chasing Eobard all season, and thanks to Sara's rewritten reality, Black Flash was finally able to get his hands on the leader of the Legion of Doom, disposing of him once and for all. I have to admit it was certainly an epic moment as we practically saw the big bad of The Flash Season 1 (Reverse-Flash) defeated by the big bad of Season 2 — Black Flash was formerly Zoom before the Time Wraiths disfigured him and gave him a new purpose.
However, there's no denying that Thawne is one of the most iconic DC villains of all time. And that leaves us wondering if this truly is the last we have seen of him, or if he will eventually return to trouble the Scarlet Speedster — or the Legends — all over again.
5. Will Nate And Amaya Rewrite History?
Nate Heywood and Amaya Jiwe were definitely two of this season's most pleasant additions. Citizen Steel and Vixen may have saved the world, and they fell for each other in the process. However, their relationship was threatened by one major factor — Amaya has a well-documented destiny waiting for her back in 1942, including a granddaughter who we know will take over the mantle of Vixen by 2016.
So it's safe to say that we didn't expect her to be sticking around, especially since we already met her granddaughter on Arrow last year.
But much to our surprise, Amaya decided to stay aboard the Waverider as she and Nate looked set to continue their relationship. So while we will likely see both characters return as regulars in Season 3, what does this mean for Amaya's future? Will her relationship with Dr. Heywood erase her granddaughter from the timeline? Or will it lead to her discovering a brand new destiny?
While the Season 2 finale of Legends Of Tomorrow definitely provided us with a lot of answers, it has left us with even more questions. Despite saving reality itself, it seems that our favorite time-traveling crimefighters have inadvertently ended up creating a whole new kind of mess. Furthermore, it seems like altering the future is a running theme and Amaya is set to continue her romance with Nate, despite her destiny. Can the Legends return from this without the help of their former captain?
With new characters set to debut and new messes that need fixing, it's safe to say that we have many questions about the show's new direction. Like all good things, it left us wanting more. And now we just have to wait until Season 3 premieres. Is it October yet?
