How do you like your comics — well done or super rare? After seeing these inconceivably pristine Wonder Woman comics currently on sale on eBay, your DC taste buds will be left craving for the rarest of the rare. The auction is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own three extraordinarily significant pieces of Wonder Woman's history. Included in the sale are the founding issues that saw one of the pillars of the step out into the light. With each being auctioned separately, here is what is on offer.

All Star Comics #8

Wonder Woman #1

Released in June 1942, this was Wonder Woman's fist ever standalone comic. Even more significant, this was the first ever female comic book superhero to feature with her own series.

All three represent the holy trilogy to any collector. When was first published, women’s rights, value and strengths were not rightly accepted to be equal to men. In the 1940s the idea of a strong, confident, sexual woman was not an image readily promoted in society. William Moulton Marston's vision of a new Amazon comic book character changed all of that with the creation of Wonder Woman. What makes this sale even more collectible however, is the pristine quality of each volume.

They Are Virtually Brand New

The seller, Darren Adams, describes their condition on eBay as

The highest-graded copies ever found. More-perfect examples do not exist on Earth or among the stars.

A big claim, but with these it appears the hype is well founded. All Star Comics #8 and Sensation Comics #1 for example have never being circulated. Both are rated as the world's single highest-graded copies of each issue. To own them all would place you in the realm of those with the last unicorn steaks hidden away behind bags of peas in the freezer.

Sorry, there is no point digging around the back of the couch for some loose coins with these. To put the potential sale of the auctions into context, Superman Action Comics #1 sold for a record an eBay of $3.2M in 2014. All three auctions run until August 28, and as of this writing the bidding is as follows:

All Star Comics #8

Sensation Comics #1

Wonder Woman #1

That's a combined total of $702,672.33. I figure, the person who bid the 33 cents is probably out of the running.

Time Is Ticking, People

It's not too late, and people do say anything is possible. If you're like me, there are probably only two options to make these part of your collection: either sell your house or start buying lottery tickets.
