After learning about the Oceanside community from Tara, Rick wasted no time bringing in his team to try and get their weapons during Episode 15 of The Walking Dead. However, trying to infiltrate such a well prepared group safely with no casualties on either side was quite a challenge, and Rick took a rather interesting approach.

You might have been confused as to why Rick decided to use explosives to get the attentions of the group, especially considering how difficult and dangerous it was to procure those particular explosives, but overall even though Rick's plan was a little confusing, it worked quite well.

Plan A for the group was that Tara would be able to talk Natania into teamed up with her and Rick, but when time expired on that offer, Plan B was initiated. This involved setting off an explosion which would drive the Oceanside community in a particular direction. Then, in order to corral the group to exactly where the group wanted them, a second and third explosion were let off and the Oceanside group ended up exactly where Gabriel, Carl and Co. were waiting. Meanwhile, Michonne, Daryl, Jesus, Aaron and Eric were set up to stop the sharpshooters of the group from accessing the gun arsenal and force them to join the group.

Basically the whole thing was a very military-esque operation, and although Natania denied Rick's offer to work together, he ended up with their weapons so his ultimate aim was achieved.

With Oceanside's approach very much shooting first and asking questions second, Rick's plan was probably the best option, and although it was dramatic, the group was very careful to make sure no one was harmed unless it was totally necessary. And because no one was hurt during the raid on the camp, this had to have earned Rick and the survivors at least a small bit of respect from Natania, meaning that perhaps in the future the group offer some of their support, and maybe even a fish or two.

The Walking Dead returns to AMC with Episode 16 on April 2
