Okay, so Prometheus was a bit of a disappointment:
Still, I can't wait for Prometheus 2. There's also some pretty exciting news: Director has just teamed up with Internet powerhouse Machinima to create sci-fi content! This report comes from Deadline where the sadly point out that Scott won't be directing any of these stories. Still, he and RSA President Jules Daly will be selecting directors from a stable that includes , , , and .
I wouldn't hold my breath just yet for any of them to actually get involved, but it still seems like a cool project that will allow lesser known, medium-level moviemakers to show off their talent to a large audience. In the long run, this is probably the future for distributing content. Scott had this to say:
RSA has always been at the forefront of creating innovative work. With new media transforming the way audiences connect with films and filmmakers, Machinima is a great partner for us as we embark on this new model of delivering original content to fans. It’s a tremendous opportunity for pushing the creative boundaries for both our filmmakers and the audience.
What stories would you guys like to see adapted to your computer screens, tablets, and phones? I hope that they'll make a combination of original stories and adapt lesser known sci-fi books that may not be able to hold a two-hour film.
