After adding Prometheus 2, Blade Runner 2, Exodus, The Forever War, and an unnamed football project to his to-do list, director Ridley Scott has just signed on for another movie; a remake of 1974 Sidney Lumet detective drama, Murder on the Orient Express.

The project is being put together at 20th Century Fox, with , (X-Men: Days of Future Past, Elysium, Mr. & Mrs. Smith) and (Criminal Minds, Saving Private Ryan, Speed) named among the producers.

Not much else has been revealed about the project yet - probably because Scott and the producing team are having trouble getting their heads around how they can make a modern update of the classic movie. The Orient Express isn't around today - and, most people just kill each other right out in the open air instead of saving it for trains... So it should be interesting to see what they do with this piece. Perhaps a period movie set in the 30s?

How does a Ridley Scott-handled remake of Murder on the Orient Express sound to you? Let me know in the comment section below!
