is set to star as an aging, suicidal actor, and as a lesbian half his age, in an adaptation of 's late novel, The Humbling.

The worldwide rights to the film have recently been acquired by Millennium Films and the film is currently in post-production, with Academy Award winner directing. A US release date has not yet been announced.

This is not the first Philip Roth novel to be adapted for the screen, previous attempts include the 2008 drama Elegy, with , and 2003's The Human Stain, starring .
