The Purge may have not have really hit it off with critics, but it certainly made Universal's accountants happy. The horror-thriller managed to rack in $64 million off a budget of $3 million. With figures like that, it's no wonder the studio is eager to get out a sequel.

We already know will head up the sequel, but we've also just received some interesting casting news. Upcoming singer-songwriter-actress has also nabbed a role in the The Purge: Anarchy.

Soul, who also has a role beside and in this year's award season contender Prisoners, will join , , , and z in the hit thriller franchise.

The Purge is set in a world where all crime is legal for just one day a year. The sequel will once again be written and directed by and is expected in theaters June 20th, 2014.

Soul might not be a face you're immediately familiar with, but the rising star has a lot of projects on her plate. As well as Prisoners and The Purge 2, she is also writing and recording her own music with producer Justin Gray.
