Photobombs are an ever-growing art form featuring a person, or sometimes animal or object, appearing in a distracting manner in a photograph, often without the subject of the picture knowing. This can be anything from a person leaping naked behind a newly wed couple during their wedding reception photo-shoot, to a bird flying in front of a camera taking a picture of a tree.

With this art form being so popular, it is no surprise that celebrities also took part in it. Recently, Iron Man and Sherlock Holmes actor Robert Downey Jr. shared the time that he photobombed himself back in 2008...

The above image is from an event relating to the 2008 film Tropic Thunder, starring Ben Stiller, Jack Black and Robert Downey Jr. himself. The film also featured Tom Cruise and Matthew McConaughey, which is why they are in the picture alongside the stars.

Between Stiller and Downey Jr. is a rather interesting and exciting face. For those who can't recognize the face, it is actually Robert Downey Jr. from the Tropic Thunder movie poster. In the film, his character undergoes pigmentation surgery to make himself look African America, which is why he is a bit more difficult to recognize than usual.

This celebrity photobomb is fantastic, and it is not the only one. Let's take a look at some of the other celebrity photobombs over the years...

Jimmy Fallon And Jon Hamm Ruin Family Picture

Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon took it upon himself to incorporate photobombing into his show. In the clip shown above, a disguised Tonight Show camera operator offered to take pictures of tourist families on top of the Empire States Building. Right as the pictures were being taken, however, Jimmy Fallon and Jon Hamm leaped into the background to surprise them. Some might say that they ruined the pictures, but I'd have to say they improved them.

Jennifer Lawrence Sees Taylor Swift

At the Golden Globes, Jennifer Lawrence spotted Taylor Swift and Ryan Seacrest. And, like any of us would have done in that situation, she got a little too excited over it.

Never Leave Out The Professor

These people just wanted a normal picture with Hugh Jackman to share online, but they made one mistake: they left out Patrick Stewart. Fortunately for Stewart, he still managed to find the perfect spot to stand to still be smiling in the picture. While he's hard to spot at first, once you do see him, you can't unsee him.

Benedict Cumberbatch At The Oscars

At the 2014 Oscars, Benedict Cumberbatch took it upon himself to photobomb as many pictures of U2 as he could. One of these photobombs ended up becoming a viral meme across social media. Check out Jimmy Fallon discussing it with Cumberbatch in the clip above.

Photobombing is something that has taken over the Internet, and the fact that celebrites have taken part in it as well is simply hilarious. It shows how human they truly are and that, deep down, they just want to have a bit of fun.
