(WARNING: The following contains a small potential plot SPOILER relating to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story — one that, while unlikely to ruin any major narrative developments, remains fairly substantial. Proceed with whatever level of caution your diminutive green mentor suggests is wise, you should.)

Now, with less than two weeks away from hitting theaters for the first time, it's perhaps not all that surprising that -themed rumors, rumblings and outright spoilers are pretty much everywhere at the moment. Which, if you're determined to go into the movie theater knowing as little as possible about the movie, is something of a pain.

Thankfully, then, the contents of this here article are — while somewhat spoiler-heavy — ultimately more teasing than they are ruinous. And, so, let's take a closer look at the fact that...

'Rogue One' May Feature A Classic Star Wars Villain WITHOUT His Armor

Yup, that's right. From the looks of it, Rogue One: A Star Wars story may not be content with returning the iconic to the big screen — it might just be opening up his armor to show us the inside, too.

That, at least, is the suggestion that an intrepid Redditor, Toa_Quarax recently made, having noticed something rather intriguing in a recent Rogue One creature featurette. Specifically, this one:

Around about the 0:20 mark, y'see, we watch as actor Ian Whyte (who's playing the furry alien Moroff in the movie) jogs towards the screen...

...which, while neat, doesn't tell us all that much in and of itself. Unless, of course, one were to look into the background of that same shot, and notice that Whyte is running past a model of a rather familiar looking (and mostly armless) man:

A man who, if you follow Toa_Quarax's logic, might just be none other than Anakin "Darth Vader" Skywalker himself, not least because, as designs to the right of the same image suggest...

...the model in question is clearly intended to be pretty much precisely as limbless as Anakin himself was when last we saw him in the flesh, way back in :

The best part of all that, though?

This Might Just Have Solved Another 'Rogue One' Mystery, Too

Specifically, the one regarding just who we saw in the film's very first teaser trailer (above), around about the 1.18 mark:

After all, as many fans speculated at the time, that Imperial Guard-protected blue tube looks an awful lot like a bacta tank — the same sort of blue healing tube we saw Luke Skywalker being healed by back in :

Which, in the context of Darth Vader's officially confirmed presence in the movie — and what looks to be a limbless Anakin Skywalker model — would seem to suggest that we will, in fact, see Darth Vader himself climb into that there tank.

Or, y'know, it could well turn out that there's more than one limbless character in the war-torn galaxy far, far away —or indeed that the idea of seeing an armor-less Anakin was pitched (and perhaps even filmed), but didn't make it into the final movie.

Either way, though, that's some damn fine sleuthing there from Toa_Quorax — one that might just have unveiled a neat, but not overly plot-ruining, detail from the upcoming movie. Nicely played...

What do you think, though? Is Darth Vader hiding in the back of that featurette — and if so, will we see him in that bacta tank? Let us know below!
