Ever since Academy Award-winning director Ron Howard took over directing duties for the currently untitled Han Solo film, he's been sharing plenty of pics from the set. Fans were seriously worried after the firing of Phil Lord and Chris Miller, but it seems that Howard may even meet their original deadline for a May 25th, 2018 release date. It seems that the situation is normal, and the project is looking very Star Wars-y indeed.

The New R2 Unit

’s latest tweet gives us a hint that more droids are entering the universe. Take a gander below:

I really enjoy Howard’s caption below the pic. He’s clearly poking fun at the fact that the droids aren’t easy to handle and are a bit stubborn. As we all know from Star Wars, droids have played a pivotal role f. From C-3PO to R2-D2 to the new fan-favorite BB-8, droids have become a staple in Star Wars lore.

Does Ron Howard's Tweet Tell Us Anything?

Certainly Howard is giving us a tease with the gold and white droid, but I believe the line “But we’ll go until we get it right” has more meaning behind it. Howard is doing his best to craft a fantastic Star Wars film from the remnants of Lord and Miller's work.

What I enjoy most from this picture is that Howard looks to be having the time of his life. It’s great seeing Howard interacting with the unnamed R2 unit amidst all of the negative publicity the movie has been receiving lately.

Multiple reports have claimed that the studio is still using a lot of footage left over from Lord and Miller. While this may be the case, Howard is now in the driver’s seat and will be the deciding factor as to what goes and what stays. There’s still plenty of time to pilot the ship — and so far, things appear to be headed in the right direction.
