To avoid fainting, keep repeating 'It's only a movie...It's only a movie...'

We're all born naked and the rest is drag, right? The bold queen who shared subversive muthafucken drag with the world has given us the might that is RuPaul's Drag Race, but has made so many more screen appearances that may have escaped your notice.

As a big RuPaul fan, you've probably seen him in camp classics like But I'm a Cheerleader, The Brady Bunch Movie and To Wong Foo Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar, or caught his voiceover talents in charming documentary The Eyes of Tammy Faye... but have you spotted Ru in these unusual appearances? Check out ten times RuPaul injected a bit of courage, uniqueness, nerve and talent into the screen...

1. Son of the Beach

  • Released: 2002
  • Format: TV comedy
  • Episode: S03E06 'The Gay Team'
  • Memo-RU-ble Quote: "Just relax, you're gonna feel a little prick in your throat"

Are you ready to be sucked into the Gaytrix? Ru guest stars as supervillain Heinous Anus in this deranged send-up of The Matrix in which Anus and his lackeys seek to "destroy the illusion of the straight world." It's actually incredibly funny, albeit totally goofy, and RuPaul is a cackling delight, stealing muscular men for his laboratory and shrieking "Look at me, mother, I'm Queen of the world!"

2. Sabrina, the Teenage Witch

  • Released: 1998
  • Format: TV sitcom
  • Episode: S02E24 'Sabrina's Choice'
  • Memo-RU-ble Quote: "I'm gonna need a bucket of ice, some ointment, and I'm gonna need Sabrina to sign a release form."

Sabrina was always a reason to rush home after school, and a double appearance from RuPaul as a Member of the Witches Council and an ambitious Hair Dresser pimps out the coven to maximum magical potency. Ru also popped up as sassy Marje in similar '90s sitcom Sister, Sister in 1995 (S02E12, 'Put to the Test').

3. Zombie Prom

  • Released: 2006
  • Format: Musical-turned-movie
  • Memo-RU-ble Quote: "A nuclear holocaust is no excuse for a runny meringue!"

'50s horror comics come to life in this campy Hairspray-esque zombie musical, trilling its way through tongue-in-cheek Cold War paranoia. Ru steals the show as formidable mistress Delilah Strict. Zombie Prom is headed for a feature-length reboot at some point in the near future, so let's hope that RuPaul will reprise her role.

4. Lady Gaga and the Muppets Holiday Spectacular

  • Released: 2013
  • Format: TV special

RuPaul + Gaga = pop culture perfection. Throw the Muppets into the mix and things couldn't be better. Ru also appeared as himself — out of drag — in another episode of The Muppets, 'Got Silk?'

5. Nash Bridges

  • Released: 1998
  • Format: TV crime show
  • Episode: S03E18 'Cuda Grace'
  • Memo-RU-ble Quote: "May I remind you that we're putting on a beauty pageant here, not a freak show!"

A murderous transgender con artist has been schmoozing victims on the Beauty Queen circuit. Pageant boss Simone DuBois (RuPaul) helps some bumbling cops brush up their drag to go undercover and catch the femme fatale. Ru popped up previously in the Nash Bridges episode S01E05 'The Javelin Catcher,' but 'Cuda Grace' is much better. Welcome to the universal runway of life!

6. Popular

  • Released: 2001
  • Format: High School Drama
  • Episode: S02E21 'Promblems'
  • Memo-RU-ble Quote: "I'm Sweet Honey Chile, gurl! I'm yo daddy!"

Years before American Horror Story was even an evil glint in Ryan Murphy's eye, he wrote high school drama Popular. Directed by cult classic But I'm A Cheerleader helmer, Jamie Babbit, Popular was cattier than Dawson's Creek and softer than My So-Called Life, a fun-yet-thoughtful coming of age show for teens. RuPaul popping up as Sweet Honey Chile is just a bonus.

7. Happy Endings

  • Released: 2013
  • Format: Sitcom
  • Episode: S03E16 'The Incident'
  • Memo-RU-ble Quote: "Sit back, relax, and we'll have you looking more 'Max' and less 'retired Air Force lesbian' in no time."

RuPaul lights up this middle-of-the-road dramedy with a welcome turn as bitchy, gossip-obsessed hairdresser Krisjahn.

8. Mystery Girls

  • Released: 2014
  • Format: TV sitcom
  • Episode: S01E08 'Bag Ladies'
  • Memo-RU-ble Quote: "You just keep sewing, Mama, just 'cause you hear me talking about you don't mean you get a break."

Ru sparkles as fashion designer Emilio San Juan, a man so fabulous he "only uses wool from the sexiest sheep in Ireland." Mystery Girls is as daft and fluffy as you would hope for from a sitcom starring Tori Spelling, and Ru archly revels in the high camp of it all.

9. Inferno

  • Released: 1992
  • Format: TV movie
  • Memo-RU-ble Quote: "Do you wanna go to a party, baby?"

Fashion frenzy in this one-off TV oddity from lauded editorial photographer Ellen Von Unwerth, which sees Eva Herzigova, Helena Christensen and a very a young Kate Moss appear alongside RuPaul. It's a real curiosity piece for those who want a sharp nostalgia boost for early '90s glossies. Oh, you also get to see Tyra Banks in mock-peasant garb, hacking at a pile of hay with a sickle!

10. Hercules

  • Released: 1998
  • Format: Animated TV
  • Episode: 'Hercules and the Girdle of Hippolyte' S01E15
  • Memo-RU-ble Quote: "My face cracked!"

Popping up in Graeco-RU-man history, Ru rocks it as a sassy Rock Guardian Ru also voiced vain snake librarian Jackie Slytherstein for Nickelodeon's Harvey Beaks (S01E22, 'Harvey's Favorite Book' and RuPearl in Nick Jr.'s Bubble Guppies (S04E02 'Costume Boxing').

Several shows and movies have also featured songs by RuPaul, including the following:

  • Addams Family Values - 'Whatcha See Is Whatcha Get'
  • Sorority Row - 'Jealous of My Boogie'
  • Beavis and Butt-Head - 'Supermodel'
  • The Lizzie McGuire Movie - 'Supermodel'
  • Party Monster - 'Supermodel'
