has been firing out on all cylinders recently when it comes to news of their cinematic universe. Just this year alone, we have had confirmation of Gotham City Sirens, Suicide Squad 2, a Black Adam movie starring Dwayne Johnson, and a Nightwing being in development. While DC have been adding film after film to their ever-expanding roster, they are most certainly being coy about its most mysterious project, Green Lantern Corps.

Announced back in 2015 along with The Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg, had no major developments other than a proposed 2020 release date. But earlier this year came the news that two Lanterns from Earth will appear in the film, the most exciting (and only real) news revolving around the film's development in over a year.

But you might remember back in the beginning of 2016, The CW aired a Dawn of The Justice League special which confirmed the Corps' appearance in the upcoming movie. But even though Geoff Johns confirmed the Lanterns' presence in JL, we had yet to hear, well...anything. But in a recent Periscope video, Heroic Hollywood's Umberto Gonzalez assured fans that a member of the Corps is definitely appearing:

"Yes. There is a Green Lantern in Justice League. I forgot how to pronounce him. I forgot the name of the Green Lantern in Justice League, so we'll see. Hey, maybe by that time they get to cast Hal Jordan and next we'll throw him in there too who knows."

Keep in mind that this in no way means he's right or that it has been confirmed. Gonzalez is known for his scoops and rumors and while he's been proven correct much of the time, he's definitely missed the mark at others. So until then...

Regardless, fans started to throw out names after he revealed that the Lantern had a name that was difficult to pronounce.

"Kilowog. No, it's not Kilowog. It's a funny-sounding—I'll give you a hint—it's a funny-sounding name... It is confirmed that Green Lantern, a Green Lantern will be in Justice League. I don't want to give you the spoiler obviously, but yes, there is a Green Lantern."

A funny-sounding name does not narrow the search down at all. The Green Lantern Corps is filled with alien races with names that look like a bowl of alphabet soup. Gonzalez even joked about the name, saying "...better not cast Tyrese," referring to the actor's heavy lobbying for the character.

But, supposing Gonzalez is right, names that immediately come to mind include Katma Tui, Ch'p (a frickin' squirrel, may I add), Arisia Rrab, Tomar-Re and, of course, Abin Sur. While Abin Sur is the logical answer as he passes on his Lantern Ring to , it is (probably) not a name that he would have forgotten. Abin Sur is one of the most famous figures of the Green Lantern mythos and even appeared in 2011's Green Lantern, portrayed by Temuera Morrison (who will be rejoining the DC universe, this time as Aquaman's dad, Thomas Curry).

It's also worth noting that while Gonzalez confirmed the existence of one Lantern in Justice League, Johns did originally state that two would be appearing. My money is on Abin Sur passing his ring on to Hal Jordan toward the end of the movie, thus fulfilling the reports of two Green Lanterns.
