I have the feeling usually gets what he wants. So if you want to see some Krypton prequels, you might be in luck. In a recent live fan chat with (yes, he's wearing a massive ice hockey jersey... again), revealed that Crowe, who played Jor-El in Man of Steel, is eager to return to Krypton.
When the idea of a Krypton prequel was mentioned by Smith, Snyder replied:
Hell, Russell, he wants to do it right now. Yeah, he's like, "Let's do it".
You can watch the entire segment of the interview, including references to Snyder's Heavy Metal influence for Krypton, below:
This isn't the first we've heard regarding Crowe's desire to see more of Krypton and Jor-El. He has previously taken to Twitter to rally support among fans by encouraging them to contact the studio if they wanted to see Man of Steel prequels. Since then Crowe has downplayed the tweets, claiming he was just responding to fan's questions, but it certainly suggests he's up for it.
With a big name behind the project from the start, Warner Bros. could feasibly be persuaded with moving along with a prequel. However, realistically, I expect the studio is currently more engaged with crossing over Superman with Batman in 2015, than with returning Jor-El to the big screen.
What do you think? Did you want to see more of Krypton? Or are you glad it was unceremoniously blown up? Let us know below.
