Never the man to choose to skip official commitments, Ryan Reynolds was forced to pull out of a British talk show appearance after getting stuck in the horrendous snow storm currently ravaging New York.

The actor was set to swoop into London on Wednesday but it appears that sneaky Storm Stella got in the way, cancelling all flights from the Big Apple and meaning that his co-stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Rebecca Ferguson had to promote their new movie without him. Here's the trailer for the sci-fi feature:

Taking to the stage, The One Show hosts Matt Baker and Michelle Ackerly broke the tragic news of Ryan's absence, saying:

"We must say hello to your co-star Ryan Reynolds who was meant to be with us today, wasn't he? But unfortunately he's been caught up in that storm in the East coast."

However, despite the fact that wasn't there in person, he was certainly there in spirit. And to be honest, it's all thanks to his biggest fan — Jake Gyllenhaal.

Chatting about his long-time pal, Gyllenhaal said:

"He's a wonderful man. It’s rare in our industry to meet someone, a contemporary, and there’s no competition. There's just some friends you meet at a certain time in your life. We met on this movie and became really close friends."

Watch the actor describe his budding bromance with Reynolds in the full interview clip below:

It's always heartwarming to see two actors hold an incredible amount of respect for one another. Let's just hope Reynolds and Gyllenhaal keep this beautiful bromance up post-Life!

Life hits cinemas on March 24, 2017.

Do you agree that Ryan Reynolds is a "beautiful man?"
