(WARNING: The following contains mild potential SPOILERS — albeit entirely speculative ones — for Marvel's upcoming Avengers: Infinity War. Proceed with whatever level of caution your latest S.H.I.E.L.D. intelligence briefing suggests to you is wise.)

Now, with 's upcoming now just a little over a year away from hitting theaters (set your clocks for May 4, 2018, gang), we're finally close enough to its release to begin formulating a detailed plan for surviving the wait. I personally recommend a diet of binge-watching Marvel TV shows, with occasional forays into pertinent sections of comic book-dom (and, of course, at least one marathon).

If your personal plan involves spending the next 14 months or so working out exactly who we're going to see in the film itself, though, then the following news might well be of a whole lot of interest. Y'see:

Samuel L. Jackson Isn't Sure That Nick Fury's In 'Avengers: Infinity War'

That, at least, was what Jackson suggested in a recent interview with MTV, in which he was asked whether he was excited to play once again in the upcoming Infinity War. His response, though, was a little less than reassuring:

"Who says I am? I don’t know. I’m asking you; I’m hoping you know maybe something I don’t know. Am I in that movie?"

Before adding, after being told that IMDb was reporting that he'll turn up in the film:

"IMDb says I am? You believe them? No, don’t believe IMDb... I haven’t heard from them. I don’t know what’s going on yet."

So, in other words? As far as is concerned, he may well not be turning up in Avengers: Infinity War at all. Or, alternatively, he totally is, and either a) hasn't found out about it yet, or b) Jackson is screwing with us, which totally seems like the kind of thing that he would do.

Either way, though, it's probably best not to get your hopes up for a substantial Nick Fury-centric sub-plot. It seems that one might have to wait for May 2019's as-yet-unnamed — or a surprise appearance in a solo movie of some kind, perhaps.

What do you think, though? Will we see Samuel L. Jackson turn up in Avengers: Infinity War? Let us know below!
