What if everything you love was taken from you in the blink of an eye? Sounds awful, but that's exactly what 's upcoming The Host is all about; parasitic aliens on a mission to possess the minds of humans. Still, one courageous girl named Melanie Stryder refuses to fade away. Just how difficult it is to play that girl?

Unlike Twilight, the young heroine of this story (played by ), is a pro-active butt-kicker. Proof of that lies in this brief new behind-the-scenes featurette, showing some stunt work from the upcoming sci-fi love story.

Ronan really shows us that playing the part of Melanie is no walk in the park. Proving that she's a cut above other actresses her age, she undertakes dangerous fight choreography and high-rise stunt-work, all on her own:

Although she's clearly got the stunt work down, Ronan will have a bit of a challenge in the movie, as she'll play both Melanie and Wanderer, an alien parasite described as a silvery centipede. How she'll be able to do that, I'm not totally sure, but we'll probably end up seeing visualizations of Wanderer's own projected consciousness. As acting challenges go, it might be pretty cool stuff, and I can see the result being worth a look for that aspect alone. Especially if Ronan's performances in Hanna and The Lovely Bones are anything to go on.
