It's been some time since any news broke regarding the adaptation of Colm Toibin's acclaimed novel, Brooklyn.

Let me refresh your memory (or ever so slightly bore you with old news... your call):

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, was supposed to play the industrious young Irish lass Eilis Lacey who crosses the Atlantic in order to make it in the New York of the 1950s. Just when she begins to flourish in the new and at first threatening environment, shocking news from home confront her with a dilemma.

The romantic immigrant drama boasts a script by novelist Nick Horby (About a Boy).

So far, so good.

Now, thanks to an interview by Bleeding Cool with director , we learned that the latter will helm Brooklyn - and that the movie will no longer star Mara.

Instead the Closed Circuit- director revealed that (Hanna) will take the lead.

As and both are exceptional actressess with similar features (and one Oscar nomination under their respective belt) I don't see much of a loss here.

Then again I haven't read the book so... what do I know!
